Crispy Cornmeal Fried Fish 🐟
Southern-style fillets in a crackly cornmeal crust, fried golden and served with hot sauce.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 1.5 lb tilapia
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp paprika
- 0.5 tsp cayenne
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups vegetable oil
- 1 lemon
- hot sauce to serve

Cut the fillets into large strips and pat dry.

Beat the eggs in one shallow dish and mix the cornmeal, flour, paprika, cayenne, and salt in another.

Dip each piece in egg, then press firmly into the cornmeal mixture.
