Crispy Fried Chicken Sandwich 🍗
Marinated chicken fried shatteringly crisp, stacked with pickles and mayo on soft bread, the sandwich worth the splatter.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 2 chicken breasts
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tbsp hot sauce
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 8 slices bread
- 1/2 cup pickles
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper

Slice each breast in half horizontally into 4 cutlets. Soak in the milk and hot sauce for 15 minutes.

Whisk the flour, cornstarch, paprika, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish. Drizzle in a spoonful of the marinade and toss to make shaggy bits.

Dredge each cutlet in the flour, pressing hard so craggy bits stick.

Heat the oil in a deep 12-inch skillet to 350°F. Fry the chicken in 2 batches, 4 to 5 minutes per side, until deep golden and 165°F inside.
