Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1.25 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups rice
  • 1.5 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • basil
  • salt
  • black pepper

    Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, parmesan, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl.

    Roll into 12-16 meatballs of equal size.

    Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown meatballs on all sides, about 8 minutes total. Remove and set aside.

    Sauté diced onion in the same skillet until soft, about 3 minutes.
