    Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

    Cream 0.5 cup softened butter with 0.75 cup sugar and 0.5 cup maple syrup until well combined.

    Beat in 2 eggs one at a time, then 1 tsp vanilla.

    Chop 0.75 cup walnuts and fold into mixture.

    Alternate adding 1.5 cups flour mixed with 1.5 tsp baking powder and 0.5 tsp salt, and 0.5 cup milk.
